Map the request boundary
Trace the path from user input through your application server to the model API and back to the page. Identify which component starts the call, consumes events and stores the final result. Keep API credentials on the server. Confirm the current request fields and response format before changing the existing integration.
Begin with a small task containing no sensitive data. Validate a regular response, then a stream. If the application needs tool calls or structured output, give those features separate acceptance cases; visible text alone does not validate them.
Distinguish content from completion
Show separate states for waiting, receiving, completed and interrupted. Mark completion only after the end signal defined by the selected protocol. A closed connection is not sufficient evidence of success. A network chunk is also not necessarily a complete event.
Buffer incomplete data until an event boundary arrives. Test normal output, empty events and an unexpected disconnect. If usage information is returned, check its location and meaning against the current protocol. Show it as unavailable when it was not received.
Make recovery an explicit user action
Handle a failed connection differently from a stream that already produced partial text. Preserve received text and explain that the result may be incomplete. Offer a new request rather than silently replaying a potentially billable call. Decide explicitly whether the new request includes prior context.
A cancel action should stop local reading and attempt to cancel server work. Check whether your own processing continues afterward. If remote completion cannot be confirmed, record that uncertainty rather than promising that the call was reversed.
Keep evidence for the release check
Retain a redacted case for normal completion, cancellation, timeout and a midstream disconnect. Record an application request identifier, time window, selected model and final application state. Exclude credentials and avoid storing complete user inputs by default.
NexoToken provides multi-model API access, account credits and usage records. Check its current model catalog, pricing and documentation, then compare available platform records with your application trace. Missing information calls for investigation; it does not establish a reliability result.
